Abstract |
This study explores the pivotal role of cultural heritage tourism in advancing tourism development strategies, particularly its capacity to generate employment opportunities and enhance foreign currency earnings. Cultural heritage sites are crucial for showcasing local cultures and attracting tourists, thereby driving tourism and preserving cultural legacies. Egypt, with its rich and diverse cultural heritage spanning thousands of years, stands to benefit significantly from cultural heritage tourism. The study aims to highlight the economic, social, and environmental impacts of cultural heritage tourism. It emphasizes the importance of supporting and preserving cultural heritage, as well as enhancing its benefits for local communities. By increasing cultural and popular activities, the study also examines the challenges faced by cultural heritage tourism and proposes solutions. Focusing on the Nubian village of Gharb Suhail as a case study, the paper assesses how cultural tourism affects local communities and evaluates the feasibility of applying this model to other Egyptian heritage sites. Effective management of cultural heritage areas is deemed essential for upgrading these sites while preserving their historical and urban significance. |
